I have always been an active person taking part in many sports. In my mid-thirties my doctor advised me to switch to 'low impact exercise' as I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in my joints and osteoarthritis in my spine.
Sore and stiff and a little bit deflated, I went to my first Zumba class, I had no idea what to expect.
It was hard at first for me, but oh so much fun, I kept going until the class was changed by the gym! I then found Zumba classes run by the tALkactive team, great atmosphere, fabulous music and a room full of smiles. Bye bye gym, I had caught the Zumba bug and have not looked back since.
Zumba has changed my life in so many ways, it's so much more than an exercise class. I have found a new level of confidence I never thought I had.
My fitness and flexibility have improved so much I forget how bad I was. Even the doctor says 'keep doing what you're doing because it's working for you.' Every week I get to see my Zumba friends, listen to a wide range of music, have fun and dance.
